The eligibility window covers albums released between Aug. 30, 2025 and July 17, 2026. The independent judging panel is chaired by Jeff Smith, head of music at BBC 6 Music & Radio 2, with a committee of nine including Afrodeutsche, Jamie Cullum, MistaJam, Phil Alexander, Sian Eleri, Will Hodgkinson, Lea Stonhill, Danielle Perry, and Sophie Williams. The ceremony returns to Newcastle's Utilita Arena on Oct. 22 — a second consecutive year outside London — after Sam Fender's hometown win for People Watching in 2025.
